A public memorial service for Jennifer Hudson's slain mother, brother and nephew is planned for Sunday at the South Side Chicago church where the Oscar-winner grew up singing.
"The Hudson family welcomes anyone who wishes to attend and pay their respects to these three beloved members of the Chicago community," reads a statement from Hudson's rep.
Neither the singer-actress nor her sister, Julia, the mother of slain 7-year-old Julian King, are expected to attend the public observance.
The service will be held from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Pleasant Gift Missionary Baptist Church, located at 4526 S. Greenwood in Chicago. The memorial will be preceded by a private service.
Police continue to investigate the deaths of Hudson's mother Darnell Donerson, 57, and brother Jason Hudson, 29. Both were found shot to death Oct. 24 in the home where Jennifer grew up in the Englewood neighborhood of Chicago. The body of Jennifer's nephew Julian, who police believe was taken from the home at the time of the attacks, was found Oct. 27 in an abandoned Chevrolet Suburban after a three-day search. He had been fatally shot.
Police, who recovered a .45-caliber handgun about a block from the SUV, later described the weapon as the same one used in the killings of the other family members.
Julia's estranged husband William Balfour, 27, was arrested the day the killings were discovered and remains in jail on alleged parole violation. He has not been charged, though police say he is a "person of interest" in the case.
Jennifer and Julia Hudson have established the Hudson King Foundation for Families of Slain Victims in honor of their family members. "The specific purpose of the Foundation is to care for the needs of families who have lost relatives to a violent crime," according to the announcement on Jennifer's MySpace page. She also tells her fans, "Thank you for your continued support."

- I love the good and bad and the ugly because all experiences make us who we are and you are stronger for everything that you experience.
I would like you to watch this you tube movie that i made. It's purpose is to think, learn, realize how many people it takes to make up this world we live in. Please don't judge anyone on their looks, lifestyle, life partners etc.. Learn why people are the way that they are and get to know each one individually. Discrimination is usually because you are naieve,mis-informed,ill-informed or have been hurt by someone else of that certain type of person. Educate yourself before you start judging. Don't miss out on wonderful people because of being afraid of the unknown. I am a white bisexual woman and have been on quite a life's journey to get where I am now. I am horrified at the way people that are not societies idea of normal are treated. .

Barack Obama,Get out the vote
We have 5 days left to get out the vote for Barack and bring about the change we need.
Over the last 21 months, supporters like you have built this campaign from the ground up -- now it's up to you whether we win or lose.
Yesterday, I recorded a video about our get out the vote effort, what we've already accomplished, and what's ahead of us in these last 5 days.
Watch the video and sign up for a get out the vote shift in the days leading up to November 4th:
To meet our GOTV goals, we'll need to fill over 50,000 door-knocking shifts in the final four days, including 30,000 on Election Day alone.
By Friday at midnight, supporters like you need to fill every last slot.
Imagine how you'll feel if you wake up on November 5th -- facing four more years of the same failed Bush-McCain economic policies -- and realize that you didn't do all you could to make sure Barack is the next president.
This is our last chance to take ownership of the political process and make the change this country needs.
Sign up for a get out the vote shift and take the final steps toward making the change we've worked for from the beginning:

Barack Obama,vote for change
We have 5 days left to make sure as many people as possible cast their votes for change.
But you'd be surprised how many of your friends and family don't know where to vote in Minnesota, a crucial battleground state.
Take a minute to look up your polling place on our voting website, VoteForChange.com, then forward this email to your friends, family, and neighbors so they can look up theirs, too.
On VoteForChange.com you can find out where to vote and get crucial voting information.
This race is too close for you -- or anyone you know -- not to vote.
And the issues we're facing are too important to keep anyone's voice out of the political process just because they didn't know where to vote.
Can you forward this email to at least five friends, family members, or coworkers and tell them to look up their polling location?
Supporters like you can transform this nation, and I'm counting on your help to make sure every Obama supporter in Minnesota knows where they can cast their vote for change on Election Day.
Thank you for your help,
Jon
